A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 23-year-old Rwandan national on Saturday morning in Kabale District.
The victim, identified as Muhire, was driving a silver Sino truck with registration number RAF186I/RL4013 when he lost control at Kyanamira along the Mbarara-Kabale highway. The truck overturned, killing him instantly.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, the accident occurred at around 8:30 AM.
Muhire, a resident of Kigali, Rwanda, was traveling from Mbarara toward Kabale when the incident happened. He was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Police, led by Cpl. Kambale Isaac, responded to the scene and later transported the body to Kabale Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Maate cited brake failure as the likely cause of the accident and urged drivers to ensure regular vehicle maintenance and adhere to road safety measures to prevent such fatal incidents.
