A Senior Four student at Bwera Secondary School in Kasese district tragically passed away on Monday evening, shortly after completing her first Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exam.
The student, identified as Nabasirye Sulaina, collapsed after experiencing a severe headache and was rushed to Bwera General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
According to initial reports, Nabasirye had successfully finished her Mathematics paper earlier in the day and returned to her dormitory to rest.
The sudden onset of her illness prompted the school staff to act quickly, but their efforts were in vain.
School officials, along with medical personnel, have begun investigations into the cause of her sudden death, with preliminary indications pointing to the possibility of an underlying medical condition. Further details are expected as enquiries continue.
