‘You’re doing a commendable Job’- Museveni Applauds Namyalo, ONC Coordinators Amidst Blackmail

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Chairman of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), held a meeting on Friday with a team from the Kyambogo Office of the National Chairman (ONC), led by his Senior Presidential Advisor (SPA), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye.

During the meeting, which included ONC Regional Coordinators and technical staff from Kyambogo, Museveni addressed the internal conflicts within the NRM.

He acknowledged the attempts to discredit his office and Namyalo, labelling these actions as efforts to misguide the Bazzukulu office and undermine the party’s unity.

Museveni commended the ONC team for their efforts in rallying the youth back to the NRM party, despite the challenges posed by internal strife and assured coordinators that Namyalo is their boss until 2026.

He stressed the importance of empowering youth as a critical component of the nation’s development strategy and highlighted initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and opportunities available to young Ugandans.

SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye outlined the ONC’s ongoing efforts to implement innovative programs that provide valuable resources to young entrepreneurs across the country.

She noted that despite the blackmail and infighting, the ONC has continued to make significant strides in youth empowerment.

Regional Coordinators shared insights from their respective areas, bringing attention to the unique challenges and opportunities present in different regions. They echoed the President’s concerns about the negative impact of internal conflicts on their work and stressed the need for unity and collaboration.

Museveni urged the ONC team to continue working closely with local communities to ensure the success of their initiatives. He emphasized the importance of government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga, encouraging coordinators to stay focused and rally more Ugandans to participate.

The President reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting youth empowerment programs that align with the broader goals of national development.

He also stressed the need for the ONC team to join the fight against corruption, urging anti-corruption agencies to collaborate with the ONC due to its proven effectiveness in service delivery.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening collaboration between the ONC, local leaders, and various stakeholders.

This collaboration aims to create an environment conducive to youth empowerment and development, ensuring that young Ugandans have the support and opportunities needed to thrive, despite the challenges posed by internal conflicts.
