The Pader Town Council Boda Boda Association has suspended Okot Geoffrey Amuti for three months, effective from May 22, 2024, to August 22, 2024.
This decision follows an investigation by the association’s disciplinary committee, which found Amuti in violation of Article 14, Section (17) of their by-laws.
This section specifically prohibits members from “disorganizing the family of his or her fellow boda boda through falling in love with the wife of his or her comrade or being in a position to connect a comrade’s wife to someone.”
Oyoo Ben Mark, chairman of the disciplinary committee, stated, “The office is therefore informing the entire members and customers that the above-mentioned person is out of boda boda work until you are informed in writing.”
The association has urged all members and customers to comply with this directive to avoid inconvenience. Additionally, the association warned that non-compliance could result in fines or further disciplinary action as outlined in their constitution.
