Felix Kamwesiga, the nephew of former deputy attorney general Mwesigwa Rukutana who went missing five days ago has been found dead.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the 27-year-old’s body was found at Mulago mortuary having been taken there by officers from Kabalagala police. The circumstances leading to his death remain unclear.

According to our sources who preferred not to be quoted as they never wanted to speak to the media for fear of jeopardizing investigations, the deceased was working with a labour recruitment company.

“CEO of T and N Miracle Agencies management regret to announce the missing of their staff Kamwesiga Felix. He was last sighted on Friday at our offices at 5 pm. Whoever knows his whereabouts should report to any nearby police station or call the managing director…,” a statement from his employer stated.

Rukutana had earlier in the day told our reporter that he was unsettled by Kamwesiga’s missing and needed time since he had gotten some links regarding his whereabouts.

“My nephew Kamwesiga went missing Friday night. He was last sighted in Makindye around 4 am Saturday morning. Anybody with information about his whereabouts is welcome and will be rewarded,” Rukutana posted on his WhatsApp status.

There have been several cases of missing persons being found dead recently. Police last week indicated that a special hire driver Sonny Serwano Bamujje, who was a resident of Ndejje Lubugumu in Ssabagabo, Wakiso district went missing and was later found dead in Nakaseke swamp.

Also the police, a few days ago indicated that the body of Makerere University lecturer Julius Mugaga’s body was on Thursday last week found floating in Lake Victoria by fishermen at Senene island after he had also gone missing for some days. In February 2024, the body of Derrick Genza who went missing for seven days was found on the roadside in Bujuuko, Mpigi district along the Kampala-Mityana road.
