The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has provided an update on the ongoing recruitment process for a new Uganda Cranes Head Coach and the technical team.

The application deadline for coaching positions and support staff was reached on Friday, September 22.

FUFA received a total of 245 applications for the Cranes Head Coach position, with only two of them being Ugandans.

In the case of the Assistant Coach role, 34 candidates applied, but again, only two were Ugandans.

For the Strength and Conditioning position, there were 24 applicants, with five of them being Ugandans. As for the Goalkeeping Coach job, seven candidates applied, and just one of them is Ugandan.

A week ago, FUFA took the decision to dismiss head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic and his entire technical team following the Cranes’ failure to qualify for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which is scheduled to be hosted in Ivory Coast.
