Dr. Sudhir Unveils Diplomatic Vehicle with Uganda’s New Digital Number Plates

Kampala, Uganda — City businessman and philanthropist Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has unveiled a new addition to his fleet, a white Lexus SUV bearing Uganda’s newly introduced digital number plates, highlighting his diplomatic status and continued prominence in both business and international circles.

The luxurious vehicle, registered under the diplomatic plate HC 151 001U, was recently sighted on the streets of Kampala, easily identifiable by its distinct red diplomatic plate, a mark reserved for members of the consular corps accredited to Uganda.

Dr. Ruparelia, who serves as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Nepal in Uganda, was appointed to the role in 2020.

His appointment has since played a pivotal part in enhancing bilateral relations between Uganda and Nepal, particularly in areas of trade, tourism, and investment cooperation.

Through his diplomatic engagement, Dr. Ruparelia has facilitated several initiatives aimed at promoting cross-cultural exchange and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between Ugandan and Nepalese business communities.

Beyond his diplomatic duties, Dr. Ruparelia remains one of Uganda’s most prominent entrepreneurs and is the Chairman of the Ruparelia Group, a conglomerate with investments spanning banking, real estate, hospitality, education, and agriculture.

The introduction of digital number plates by the Government of Uganda marks a major step toward improving vehicle security, registration tracking, and law enforcement efficiency. Dr. Ruparelia’s new diplomatic vehicle is among the latest high-profile examples of their adoption.

His continued involvement in both public and diplomatic service further cements his status as a key figure in Uganda’s business and international relations landscape.
