President Museveni Fulfills Pledge of Motorcycles to Boda-Boda Associations in Nkumba Parish

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has fulfilled his promise of donating 20 new motorcycles to Boda-boda Associations in Nkumba Parish, Wakiso District.

The motorcycles were delivered by State House Comptroller, Ms. Jane Barekye, in a colourful ceremony held in Bendebere Village, Nkumba.

The beneficiaries included the Nkumba Bufulu NRM Mobilizers Boda-boda Association and the Quarter Guard NRM Mobilizers Boda-boda Association, each receiving 10 motorcycles.

In her remarks, Ms. Barekye advised the recipients to use the motorcycles to improve their household incomes and develop their associations.

She thanked the members for their support of President Museveni and expressed the President’s commitment to also support local women groups involved in productive enterprises such as poultry farming, dairy farming, piggery, and mushroom growing to boost their production and household incomes.

Maj. Emmanuel Kuteesa, in charge of Special Duties at State House, appreciated President Museveni’s initiative to support the youth in their fight against poverty.

Mr. John Muhire, LC 1 Chairperson of Bendebere Village and patron of the two associations, praised the President for empowering the youth, highlighting that the motorcycles will save them from loans and enable them to save money and assist other members of their associations.

Mrs. Jennifer Nakayondo, also a patron of the associations, commended the President for his support and praised the harmonious relationship between civilians and soldiers at the Training School in Kasenyi. She emphasized the disciplined and pro-people nature of the army under President Museveni’s leadership.

The Chairpersons of Nkumba Bufulu NRM Mobilizers Boda-boda Association and Quarter Guard NRM Mobilizers Boda-boda Association, Mr. Mwanika Fred and Mr. Gombe Kiyaga, respectively, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President Museveni for the new motorcycles.

They pledged to use them to transform their lives, those of their families, and members of their associations.

The ceremony was attended by Lt. Col. Frank Murema, Commandant of the Training School in Sera Kasenyi.
