On many occasions, we have interacted with His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, both physically and online, especially as Bazzukulu, a term he now often uses to address the youth.
He has always inspired young people to focus beyond their tribes, clans, religions, or races, and instead concentrate on achieving East African Community (EAC) integration first.
Later, Africa can unite and become borderless.
President Museveni’s passion for the East African Community is anchored in the belief that we should stop seeing ourselves merely as Ugandans, but rather as East Africans—or even Africans. This, he believes, is a better way for us to conquer global challenges if we unite as Africans.
Such unity would expand our markets and increase trade, thereby advancing shared prosperity and security for the people of East Africa and Africa at large.
With stronger economic power, we would also be able to better exploit our mineral resources, expand our security capacity, and ultimately become a formidable global force.
I am one of those Ugandans who believe that President Museveni genuinely wishes the African population well. However, his vision and efforts are sometimes derailed by short-sighted individuals within Uganda and across the region. We may regret in the future if we fail to seize this moment while he is still available to help advance a common and progressive agenda for our people.
Raisi Museveni has never missed a **East African Community Heads of State Summit. He participates in all these meetings. Even as I write this, he is in Arusha, Tanzania, attending the 25th Ordinary Summit of the East African Community Heads of State.
He is a visionary leader whose vision, experience, knowledge, and wisdom we must tap into as Ugandans and Africans while we still can.
A fast-forward-thinking, charismatic, and Pan-African leader—President **Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa—we are proud of you and always will be.
You give us hope for the future Africa we have always dreamed of.
