A surge of yellow filled the Buganda Road Primary School playground on Wednesday as supporters gathered for the long-awaited unveiling of TONTA NRM United Voice, marking a new phase in the outfit’s nationwide mobilisation drive for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The launch drew thousands of enthusiastic bazzukulu who have followed the group’s rapid rise over the last two years.
Operating from its Rubaga-based offices and backed by a network of more than 100 district coordinators, TONTA has increasingly positioned itself as one of the most visible grassroots mobilisation engines within the ruling party.
Its prominence was further underscored by the presence of two key figures—Minister for Kampala Hajjat Minsa Kabanda as Guest of Honour and the ONC Manager and Chief Muzzukulu, SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, who presided as Chief Guest. Their arrival triggered loud applause from the youthful crowd, signalling the strong partnership that has emerged between TONTA and the Office of the National Chairman (ONC).

In his remarks, TONTA CEO Mr Nabasa Alex, widely referred to as “The Don”, credited Hajjat Namyalo for reshaping the energy and direction of political mobilisation among young people.
He hailed her as the “true chief muzzukulu” whose empowerment campaigns and visibility across the country have inspired TONTA’s decision to scale up its own mobilisation efforts.
TONTA National Coordinator Byamugisha Emma echoed this sentiment, revealing that the successful acquisition of the playground venue was itself a result of Namyalo’s support.
He praised her as a dependable, grounded leader who consistently stands behind genuine mobilisers working for President Museveni.
Taking to the podium, Hajjat Namyalo extended warm appreciation to Minister Kabanda for her steadfast support to ONC programmes, describing their partnership as an important pillar in Kampala’s ongoing empowerment efforts.
She emphasised that the strength of the NRM lies in disciplined collaboration, warning against internal rivalries that undermine the party’s broader mission.

Namyalo reaffirmed ONC’s commitment to working alongside TONTA and any other groups dedicated to advancing President Museveni’s leadership.
While acknowledging Kampala’s complex mobilisation terrain, she expressed confidence that unified effort and strategic focus would secure overwhelming support for the President.
She urged TONTA members to uphold discipline, steer clear of unnecessary confrontations and remain loyal to their core mandate—ensuring President Museveni’s victory. In an emotional moment, she also thanked Buganda Road Primary School, her former school, for hosting the event, calling it a symbolic homecoming.

In her closing message, Namyalo rallied the bazzukulu and Ugandans at large to continue backing President Museveni, whom she described as a visionary and dependable leader whose stewardship has shaped Uganda’s development trajectory.
With ONC’s endorsement and TONTA’s renewed energy, the group is now expected to ramp up mobilisation activities across the country as it amplifies efforts to consolidate youth support ahead of the coming political season.
