General Muhoozi highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration with partner nations like Belgium to enhance Uganda’s capacity in defense, intelligence, and regional peacekeeping operations.

He emphasized that Uganda’s partnership with Belgium has been longstanding, formally anchored in a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 1995, which has guided cooperation in security, defense training, and capacity building over the decades.

The meeting covered a wide range of issues, including joint training programs, intelligence sharing, and technical assistance aimed at strengthening Uganda’s defense infrastructure and operational readiness. Both parties affirmed their commitment to expanding collaboration in emerging security challenges, including counter-terrorism, maritime security, and peacekeeping operations under the African Union and United Nations mandates.
