Speaker Among Leads NRM Mobilisation Drive in Bugweri, Praises Museveni’s Development Agenda

Bugweri, Uganda — The Speaker of Parliament and NRM Second National Vice Chairperson (Female), Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, on Saturday rallied thousands of residents in Bugweri District to consolidate their support behind President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Addressing a mammoth crowd at Idudi Town Council, Among urged the people of Bugweri to remain steadfast in their support for President Museveni, emphasizing the government’s commitment to transforming rural livelihoods through various socio-economic programmes.

“Despite the challenges the NRM government has faced, we have continued to register key milestones that are improving the lives of ordinary Ugandans. Through initiatives such as Universal Primary and Secondary Education (UPE and USE), improved road infrastructure, and the Parish Development Model (PDM), many households are steadily joining the money economy,” Among said.

The event attracted several Members of Parliament including Hon. Muhammad Ssentayi (Bukoto West), Hon. Racheal Magoola (Woman MP, Bugweri), and Hon. Daudi Kabanda (Kasambya County), among other NRM leaders from Busoga and neighboring regions.
