Sironko, Eastern Uganda: The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, on Saturday joined Hon. Asha Nabulo Mafabi, the NRM flag bearer and incoming Woman Member of Parliament for Sironko District, together with other leaders to preside over a massive empowerment outreach at Sironko High School Playgrounds.
The event, which drew thousands of residents from all corners of the Elgon sub-region, was marked by the distribution of 100% free start-up tools to beneficiaries.
These included welding machines, Tailoring machines, brick laying machines, hair dryers, popcorn machines, farm inputs for planting such as onions, tomatoes, spray pumps, cabbages and other income-generating equipment aimed at improving household incomes and advancing the ONC’s agenda of grassroots empowerment.

Addressing her supporters, Ms. Aisha Nabulo Mafabi, the NRM flag bearer and incoming Woman Member of Parliament for Sironko District, thanked SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye for spearheading the empowerment outreach and for bringing life-changing start-up tools to the residents.
She also expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for fulfilling his pledges to the district, including infrastructure development, women and youth empowerment programs, and other community-focused initiatives.
Ms. Nabulo pledged her full commitment to supporting President Museveni’s vision and the NRM government, urging residents to consolidate their support behind the ruling party and its flag bearers.
She appealed to the people of Sironko to desist from backing opposition politicians, whom she said have consistently failed to deliver tangible services and often work against the interests of the community.
“I promise to work hand in hand with President Museveni and our NRM leaders to ensure that Sironko continues to benefit from development programs. I urge every resident to support our flag bearers and reject those who oppose progress,” she said, receiving cheers from the crowd.

On the other hand, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo thanked the people of Sironko for turning up in large numbers and reiterated her mission of empowering communities through wealth creation.
She urged residents to rally behind President Yoweri Museveni and all NRM flag bearers in the district and warned against opposition politicians whom she accused of misleading the population.
“You cannot expect someone who abuses government every day to lobby for your schools, roads, or jobs. Their role is only to fight government initiatives and tarnish its image. But at the end of the day, he still earns a salary from the same government he insults, while you, the ordinary people, are the ones who lose out,” she said.

Ms. Nabukwasi Jane Josephine, the NRM District Vice Chairperson, applauded Hajjat Namyalo for bringing the empowerment campaign to Sironko and reaffirmed the district’s support for President Yoweri Museveni.
She highlighted several government pledges that are either completed or under implementation such as the ongoing tarmacking of the Namagumba–Nalugugu road, where compensation for a few remaining project-affected persons is underway.
She also cited the establishment of the Professor Dan Nabudere Vocational Institute and the Late Wapakhabulo Memorial Nursing and Midwifery School, both of which are in progress.
She further emphasized that Sironko District has greatly benefited from the government’s flagship economic empowerment programs, including the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and the Youth Livelihood Fund, all of which have injected capital and resources into households and community groups.
“These achievements are living testimony that the NRM government is delivering on its commitments and steadily transforming the livelihoods of our people,” Ms. Nabukwasi told the cheering crowd.

The event also witnessed a wave of defections from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and National Unity Platform (NUP), led by prominent councilors Nangweri Emma and Nyole Bright officially crossing to the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
The defectors, joined by other grassroots leaders, pledged their loyalty to the ruling party and credited Hon. Asha Nabulo Mafabi for championing initiatives that directly uplift ordinary citizens.

Their decision was met with loud applause from the crowd, with many describing it as a sign of growing confidence in the ruling party’s ability to deliver.
The outreach brought together the district NRM executive and flag bearers from all 43 sub-counties, including Budadiri West NRM flag bearer, Mr. Kidasi Masaba Isaac, who commended Hajjat Namyalo and Hon. Asha Nabulo for empowering residents with tangible tools to elevate their incomes and concluded with electrifying performances from artists led by Gravity Omutujju, Lil Pazo Lunabe, San Cee, and several entertainers from the Elgon region, turning the political and empowerment rally into a full day of celebration.
