Top Story! Bukomansimbi Set for Major Empowerment Outreach as ONC Moves to Boost Grassroot Livelihoods, Rally Support for Museveni Ahead of 2026

The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has announced plans to use the upcoming thanksgiving ceremony of Hajji Shafic Mwanje in Bukomansimbi District as a platform for both celebration and empowerment.

The event, slated for Sunday, September 21st at Bulenge Playground, will feature distribution of start-up tools to boost household incomes, particularly among youth and women.

According to Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Manager of ONC, the initiative is intended to merge political mobilization with tangible socio-economic transformation at the grassroots.

“We are coming to Bukomansimbi not just to celebrate Hajji Shafic’s victory, but to empower the people, especially the youth and women,” Hajjat Namyalo said while addressing journalists at her Kyambogo offices on Monday evening.

She added: “We’re walking the talk of socio-economic transformation. As ONC, we believe that political mobilization must go hand in hand with real empowerment. That’s why we’re giving out start-up tools to help people work and earn, not just word and clap for leaders.”

Among the items to be distributed are sewing machines, carpentry kits, welding tools, hairdressing equipment, agricultural inputs, and other livelihood materials tailored to the needs of Bukomansimbi residents.

The thanksgiving follows Hajji Mwanje’s recent election as the National Chairperson for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) under the ruling NRM’s Central Executive Committee (CEC).

He also serves as the NRM District Chairperson for Bukomansimbi and Director of Mobilization at the Office of the National Chairman – NRM.

Mwanje, known for his philanthropy and advocacy for vulnerable groups, described the thanksgiving as both a moment of gratitude to God and an expression of solidarity with his people.

“This victory has showcased what inclusive leadership looks like, where people with disabilities are recognized, represented and empowered. I thank the people of Bukomansimbi and all Ugandans for trusting me with this role. I pledge to serve with loyalty, humility, and focus,” he said.

The celebrations will include prayers, music performances, and a community empowerment session led by ONC. Organizers say the event will not only honor Mwanje’s victory but also mark a fresh wave of political mobilization ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Hajji Mwanje and Hajjat Namyalo are expected to use the platform to rally support for President Yoweri Museveni’s candidature and the continued leadership of the NRM, which they argue remains central to Uganda’s stability, peace, and development.
