Sudhir Jets to UK for High-Level Africa Business Summit

Ugandan billionaire businessman and philanthropist Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has left Uganda to headline the 15th UK–Africa Business Summit this Friday at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London, reaffirming his role as one of Africa’s most influential private sector leaders.

Ruparelia, Chairman of the Ruparelia Group, will deliver a keynote address emphasizing African-led investment, access to affordable financing for enterprises, ethical agribusiness, and the development of resilient urban infrastructure.

His participation marks a second consecutive year at the summit, highlighting his growing influence in shaping investment narratives across the continent.

Organized by Promota Africa, the summit serves as a premier platform connecting African policymakers, entrepreneurs, and UK-based investors.

This year’s edition will feature top Ugandan officials, including Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, Finance Minister Matia Kasaija, Treasury Secretary Dr. Ramathan Ggoobi, and Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa. Senior military leaders, including Gen. David Muhoozi and Lt. Gen. Joseph Musanyufu, will also participate.

The two-day summit will focus on bankable projects in energy, ICT, agriculture, and financial services, providing a direct link between investors and credible ventures. “The focus this year is on execution—matching ideas with capital and building lasting partnerships that can transform economies,” the organizers said. The summit will also promote diaspora-led initiatives aimed at boosting Africa’s private sector.

Corporate partners, including Ruparelia Group, EW Properties, and the World Book of Records – London, are lending support, further raising the event’s profile.

Ruparelia’s participation is expected to not only enhance Uganda’s international investment profile but also underscore his commitment to fostering private sector-led growth across Africa, creating employment, and promoting sustainable development.
