Ugandan Billionaire tycoon and philanthropist Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has injected millions of shillings into the 8th Pan-African Pyramid (PAP) Global Awards, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to African excellence and unity. The prestigious event is set for August 30, 2025, at Fairway Hotel Kampala, coinciding with PAP’s 11th Anniversary Bonfire Dinner.
The announcement was made by PAP Speaker and Chairman Andrew Irumba Katusabe, who hailed Sudhir’s sponsorship as a “beacon of hope for Africa.” The businessman is also expected to deliver the keynote address at the event.
“Dr. Sudhir’s generosity is a beacon of hope for Africa. His support for the PAP Awards demonstrates his dedication to honoring those who drive the continent forward,” said Irumba at a press briefing in Kampala.
A known champion of Pan-African ideals, Dr. Ruparelia, who also serves as Honorary Consul of Nepal to Uganda, is leveraging his financial muscle and continental influence to elevate PAP’s flagship ceremony into a globally recognized platform for leadership, entrepreneurship, culture, and social impact.
Sudhir’s role as official patron of the 2025 PAP Awards follows his recognition last year with the Lifetime Achiever (Business Entrepreneur) Award—a mark of his transformative legacy in Uganda’s economic sector. This places him alongside other PAP honorees such as President Yoweri Museveni and King Mswati III of Eswatini.
With his Ruparelia Group now valued at over $1.6 billion (Forbes Africa 2025), Dr. Ruparelia has redefined wealth by embedding philanthropy, job creation, and social empowerment into every corner of his empire, from real estate and education to hospitality and banking.
“The PAP Awards are a movement” — Irumba
“The PAP Awards are more than an event; they’re a movement to unite Africans and recognize those who inspire us,” added Irumba, crediting Sudhir’s consistent support for amplifying this Pan-African vision.
Over the years, the Ruparelia Foundation—Sudhir’s charity arm—has donated more than $1 million to education, health, and community development causes across Uganda, including building schools, supporting healthcare access, and equipping disadvantaged communities.
This year’s ceremony is expected to attract dignitaries from across Africa and the diaspora, all rallying behind the mission of celebrating African heritage, discourse, and excellence. With Sudhir’s input, the PAP Awards are set to grow into a continental powerhouse of recognition and inspiration.
