Central Region NRM Vice Chair Aspirant ‘Kyeswa’ Warns Against Politics of Favouritism, Urges Issue-Based Party Building

As the National Resistance Movement (NRM) gears up for its delegates’ conference, NRM Central Region Vice Chairperson aspirant, Kyeswa Hakim, has called on party members to unite and work towards building a stronger, more inclusive organisation.

In a message to supporters and fellow delegates, Kyeswa reflected on his campaign trail, noting the warm reception he has received from communities across villages and towns.

He commended grassroots members for their unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals and urged those yet to be reached to “keep the fire burning” as true ambassadors of the NRM’s future.

“This mission was never about me. The NRM we want won’t be built by one person. It will be built by us, together. No shortcuts, no empty words, no handouts but just real commitment from those who truly love this party,” Kyeswa said.

He criticised what he described as “the same old games, promises that fade and energy that fizzles out” in past political engagements, stressing that the time had come for fresh voices and tangible action.

Kyeswa urged delegates to approach the upcoming conference with unity of purpose, prioritising the collective good of the party over personal interests or favours.

“Our strength is in our unity. Let’s move forward, not for positions or favors, but for an NRM we can all be proud of,” he said.

The NRM delegates’ conference, expected to attract party leaders and members from across the country, will be a decisive platform for shaping leadership in the coming term. Kyeswa is among the contenders vying for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for the Central Region.

His campaign message, anchored in the slogan ‘Nothing for us without us’, has resonated with supporters calling for reform, inclusivity, and grassroots empowerment within the ruling party.
