Twin Glory! Workaholic ONC’s Hajjat Namyalo Honoured with Dual Accolades at Halal Islamic Brunch

The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and manager – Office of the National Chairman – NRM (ONC), SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye was on Sunday awarded two prestigious accolades during the Halal Islamic Brunch held at 4 Points By Sheraton in Kampala.

Hajjat Namyalo was honoured for Outstanding Political Leadership and Women Empowerment and Community Welfare, in recognition of her growing influence in national politics and her commitment to uplifting communities—particularly Muslim women and the youth.

The event, organised by Biggie Events, brought together notable figures from Uganda’s Muslim community, civil society, and the private sector. It aimed to spotlight individuals whose contributions continue to shape and strengthen the social and economic fabric of the Islamic community in Uganda.

Speaking shortly after receiving the awards, Hajjat Namyalo urged young people, especially Muslim women, to remain grounded, focused, and intentional about their personal and professional decisions.

“Let us not rush into decisions that may cost us years of progress, as Muslim women, we must embrace patience, resilience, and purpose. The future belongs to those who are consistent and intentional in their journey,” she said.

Her remarks struck a chord with many in attendance, including religious leaders, who applauded her message of purpose-driven leadership and her consistent efforts to mobilise communities around development initiatives.

The ONC head has in recent years carved out a distinct profile in Ugandan politics, not only as a key figure in the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) but also as a vocal advocate for youth empowerment and economic transformation through grassroots programs.

Her presence in such civic and faith-based spaces reflects a growing intersection between political leadership and community-focused engagement.

Several other individuals were also recognised at the event. Prominent businessman Dr. Hajj Hamis Kiggundu received an award for entrepreneurship and philanthropy, while city lawyer Ssebuufu Usaama was honoured for his impact in the legal field.

Hajjat Shania Kigozi was applauded for her charitable work, particularly her continued support for orphaned children.

Organisers described the Halal Islamic Brunch as more than just an awards ceremony, it is a platform for networking, mentorship, and collective reflection on the values that bind Uganda’s Muslim community.

This year’s edition was particularly notable for its emphasis on female leadership and the role of women in national transformation.

For Namyalo, the double recognition serves as further validation of her role as a bridge between political leadership and grassroots mobilisation—an area she continues to prioritise as part of her broader mandate at the ONC.
