The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) manager, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has today donated an empowerment package worth millions to different groups from Soroti District in a massive effort to combat poverty and foster economic self-reliance among local communities.
The event took place at Katine Subcounty in Dakabela County, Soroti District, where thousands of Bazzukulu gathered in anticipation of the President’s empowerment message delivered through the ONC.
Organized in collaboration with local leaders and aspiring political candidates, the outreach saw a record turnout by midday, with Katine Playgrounds filled with excitement and hope.

Hajjat Namyalo, who also serves as the Senior Presidential Advisor and Political Assistant to the President, arrived at exactly 12:30pm to a thunderous welcome from the crowd.
While addressing the gathering, Hajjat emphasized the importance of unity in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party as the country heads toward the 2026 elections.

She clarified that the ONC does not endorse any specific candidates for political office, but appreciates leaders who support the President’s vision by working directly with communities.
“We, as ONC, work directly under the National Chairman and President, Jajja w’Abazzukulu Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. We don’t front or endorse any individual candidates. However, we appreciate those who partner with us to bring services to the people. Hon. Anyimo Harriet is one of them,” Hajjat said.

She went on to applaud Anyimo Harriet for contributing over UGX 75 million shillings to support the procurement of wealth creation tools, such as sewing machines, brick laying machines, sprayers, popcorn makers, hair dryers, and groundnut machines.
Hajjat also recognized the contributions of Soroti’s Deputy RCC Peter Pex Paak, who played a critical role in the success of the outreach. Local leaders took the opportunity to present pressing community needs to the ONC team.
These included the long-awaited fulfillment of presidential pledges—specifically, the establishment of a technical and secondary school in Katine Subcounty, which was promised by President Museveni during his 2011 campaign.

Mr. Echiku Joseph, the NRM chairperson for Katine, expressed concerns over the slow progress on these pledges and also raised issues of unfair compensation, claiming that some NRM historicals were being sidelined during compensation exercises.
As part of the empowerment package, a variety of equipment was distributed to organized groups and individuals to help boost local entrepreneurship and reduce dependency.
These included chapati-making machines, welding kits, sewing machines, hand hoes, farm sprayers, and other livelihood tools.

The event attracted an impressive delegation of political and government officials, including Senior Presidential Advisor and District NRM Chairperson Mr. Charles Elasu, Soroti LC5 Chairperson Mr. Edoru Simon Peter Ekuu, RDC Paul Eseru, Soroti City Assistant RCC Enyalu Julius, and Mama Acham (Teddy Acham), Chairperson of NRM Elder Persons in the Teso Subregion, along with multiple parliamentary and district chair aspirants on the NRM ticket.
Closing the event on a high note, celebrated Ugandan artist Gravity Omutujju thrilled the crowd with energetic performances of hit songs like “Winner,” “Money,” “Okwepiicha,” and “Doozi,” leaving the Bazzukulu in high spirits.
