Mengo, Uganda – East African Medical Vitals (EAMV) has made a contribution to the Buganda Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to combat HIV/AIDS, presenting a cheque of UGX 10 million for the upcoming Kabaka Birthday Run 2025.
The handover took place at Bulange, Mengo, bringing together two influential figures: Mr. Ben Kavuya, Chairman of EAMV, and Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikiro of Buganda. What might have been a simple financial transaction became a moment of shared commitment to community health and social progress.
As a leading medical consumables manufacturer in Sub-Saharan Africa, EAMV has long understood that its role extends far beyond producing medical supplies. The company’s mission; to provide sustainable, high-quality, and affordable medical products – found its most meaningful expression in this moment of giving.
“As a responsible corporate entity, we are more than happy to support health-related initiatives,” Mr. Kavuya explained during the ceremony. His words carried weight, acknowledging the critical nature of the HIV/AIDS challenge. “The Buganda Kingdom has been championing a noble cause that affects everyone in our community,” he continued, highlighting the universal impact of the initiative.

Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga received the contribution with visible appreciation. “I am pleased to receive my long-time friend Mr. Ben Kavuya, the Chairman of East African Medical Vitals,” he said, emphasizing the personal connection behind the corporate support. “We appreciate their support for Kingdom activities and their commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS.”
The Kabaka Birthday Run has become a powerful platform for raising awareness, challenging stigma, and bringing communities together in the fight against HIV/AIDS. EAMV’s contribution is a statement of solidarity, hope, and collective responsibility.
For EAMV, this moment reflects a deeper commitment. The company has consistently demonstrated that its impact goes beyond manufacturing medical gloves and consumables. Each contribution, each initiative, is a step towards improving health outcomes and supporting vulnerable communities.
Uganda continues to face significant challenges in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Despite progress, the disease remains a critical health concern, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Initiatives like the Kabaka Birthday Run play a crucial role in education, awareness, and supporting those affected by the virus.

The partnership between EAMV and the Buganda Kingdom represents a model of how private sector organizations can meaningfully contribute to public health initiatives. It shows that corporate success and social responsibility are not mutually exclusive, but can indeed work hand in hand to create positive change.
As the cheque was handed over, it symbolized more than a monetary contribution. It represented hope, support, and a collective commitment to improving health outcomes for communities across Uganda.
Dr. Joseph Kigozi, a local health expert, noted the significance of such corporate support. “Private sector involvement is crucial in our continued fight against HIV/AIDS,” he said. “Contributions like these go beyond financial support – they help break down barriers, challenge stigma, and bring critical resources to communities that need them most.”
For EAMV, this is just another deliberate effort in their ongoing commitment to community health. The company continues to demonstrate that true corporate success is measured not just in profits, but in the positive impact made on people’s lives.
