The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has postponed the release of the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results to Tuesday, February 11.
Initially scheduled for Friday, February 7, the delay follows adjustments in the Minister of Education and Sports’s official commitments.
Sources privy to a meeting held at State House yesterday between UNEB officials and First Lady Janet K. Museveni revealed that the postponement was due to her prior engagements on the initial release date.
During the meeting, UNEB’s Executive Director, Prof. Celestino Obua, and Dr. Dan Odongo provided a comprehensive briefing on the examination results.
This year’s UCE exams were particularly significant, as they marked the first assessment under the new lower secondary curriculum. To accommodate the transition, students were evaluated using two different sets of exams: one aligned with the new curriculum and another known as the “transition examination.”
The results are eagerly awaited by students, parents, and educators, as they play a crucial role in shaping students’ academic pathways.
UNEB’s 2024 examination theme, “Embracing Security and Holistic Assessment of Learners in a Dynamic Environment,” underscores the board’s commitment to adapting to evolving educational standards while ensuring a secure and comprehensive evaluation process.
