Uganda’s premier luxury destination, Speke Resort Munyonyo, is proving that its commitment to excellence extends far beyond its opulent interiors.
This morning, the resort’s staff took to the streets for a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) cleaning drive, demonstrating their dedication to environmental sustainability and community well-being.
Led by General Manager Mr. Akilesh Malik, the team rolled up their sleeves and actively participated in the clean-up exercise, which aimed to enhance hygiene, reduce waste, and promote a cleaner, healthier environment.

Armed with brooms, gloves, and garbage bags, the employees worked tirelessly to clear litter, sweep streets, and dispose of waste responsibly. Their collective efforts not only transformed the surroundings but also inspired residents to join in and take pride in their community.
“We have managed to clean most areas around the resort, which is a great achievement, and all of you should be proud of yourselves,” Mr Malik said during the event. “This is just the beginning. We want to do more of this and ensure the area around the resort remains as clean as it is on the inside. I want to thank you all for taking time off your busy schedules to join us in this cause.”
The initiative was met with widespread appreciation from the community, with many residents expressing gratitude for the resort’s efforts. Some locals even joined the clean-up, showcasing their enthusiasm for maintaining a clean and hygienic neighbourhood.

This CSR activity underscores Speke Resort Munyonyo’s commitment to sustainable practices and community engagement.
By spearheading such initiatives, the resort aims to create a cleaner, greener environment for both residents and visitors.
Plans are already underway for similar activities in the future, as the resort continues to lead by example and make a lasting impact in the community.
