Namisindwa, Uganda – In a bid to transform lives and empower communities in Namisindwa District, Dr. Sarah Khanakwa, a prominent leader and Woman MP aspirant, has successfully trained over 500 women and men in skills to generate income.
The initiative, which targeted selected sub-counties within the district, focused on practical skills in making body jelly and laundry bar soap.
Speaking during one of the training sessions held at Butemulani Parish in Bumwoni Sub-county, Dr. Khanakwa emphasized the importance of equipping women and girls with income-generating skills.
She noted that such initiatives are essential in bridging the economic gap and ensuring that women remain active contributors to household income and community development.
“We decided to train them on how to make washing bar soap so that they can maintain proper hygiene while generating income for their households,” Dr. Khanakwa remarked.
This program, which has been widely praised, is part of Dr. Khanakwa’s broader mission to empower women and girls in Namisindwa, a district where many remain underrepresented in economic activities.
