Arua Central Division has successfully distributed UGX 1.1 billion under the Parish Development Model (PDM) to support 1,279 beneficiaries.
This funding comes from a total of UGX 1.2 billion received by the division, which was allocated to six PDM SACCOs established across various wards.
According to Arua City’s PDM Focal Person, Jacob Abiria, the timely sensitisation and mobilisation of the targeted beneficiaries have been key factors in achieving these disbursements.
However, UGX 150 million remains in the division’s accounts, awaiting distribution due to enrolment challenges that initially delayed disbursement.
Abiria expressed optimism that these issues will soon be resolved, allowing for the release of the remaining funds.
Records from the PDM Focal Person’s office show that each of the six wards disbursed funds through their respective SACCOs.
Bazaar, Kenya, and Tanganyika wards distributed UGX 216 million, while Awindiri and Pangisha wards disbursed UGX 166 million each.
Mvara Ward, with the smallest allocation, distributed UGX 149 million to its applicants.
