Parents Urged to Support PLE Candidates with Early Preparation

Rev. Father Innocent Wanichan of Warr Catholic Parish, Nebbi Catholic Diocese, held dedication prayers for Pasai Primary School’s P.7 candidates on Monday, urging them to embrace higher education to become pillars of community development.

“When you are uneducated, you cannot be a pillar for development. The name of your parents will be honoured when you are educated,” Father Wanichan emphasised, encouraging students to avoid alcohol and drugs and to follow Christian principles.

Pasai Primary School headteacher Fred Uthira revealed the school’s commitment to academic excellence, with hopes to improve the number of top grades this year.
“We’ve organised seminars, completed the syllabus, and prepared students academically and morally,” Uthira shared, urging parents to consider affordable secondary schools for further education.

Nicholas Odeba, Zombo District’s education officer, shared optimism for the district’s 2,532 P.7 candidates, commending teachers for their dedication and advising students to stay calm during exams.

Parents in Alangi Sub-county expressed their support and commitment, attending dedication prayers and preparing financially to support their children’s secondary education.

Piraciel Jenety, a parent and roasted maize seller, has been saving for secondary school fees, while other parents like Mandhawun Faridah and Pauline Adubango shared their hope that success in the PLE will motivate further educational support.

With 1,472 pupils enrolled, including 55 P.7 candidates (27 girls and 28 boys), Pasai Primary School is optimistic for strong PLE results.

Candidates Quinta Opikese and Savior Onenarach expressed confidence, noting the school’s emphasis on seminars, group discussions, and rigorous preparation.

As the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) approach next week, Pasai candidates are ready to showcase their efforts, hoping for results that will make their families and community proud.
