Police in Kiboga District have arrested a 25-year-old nursing student, Bukenya Rashid, in connection with a series of kidnappings in the area.
Bukenya was apprehended on October 16, 2024, by security operatives and has been linked to multiple abductions.
During interrogation, he confessed to being involved in two kidnappings on October 5 and 12, targeting a 4-year-old and a 3-year-old, respectively.
Fortunately, both children were rescued unharmed.
Bukenya admitted to demanding ransoms of Shs300,000 and Shs400,000 in the two incidents. He is currently being held at Kiboga Central Police Station as authorities prepare to charge him in court.
“We urge parents to remain vigilant about their children’s safety,” the police advised.
