Tehran, Iran — In a heartfelt message, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution has mourned the martyrdom of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, following a tragic incident in Beirut on the night of September 28, 2024.
Khamenei expressed deep sorrow, offering condolences to the Iranian nation, the Islamic Ummah, and all members of the Resistance Front. Khamenei hailed Nasrallah as a towering figure of the Resistance movement, a devout scholar, and a wise political leader.
In his message, he stated that Nasrallah, who dedicated his life to the jihad against oppression and the defense of Lebanon’s Dahiya neighborhood and the oppressed people of Palestine, has now received the ultimate reward of martyrdom for his decades of service.
“The great Mujahid and standard-bearer of the Resistance in the region has ascended to the heavens. The dear Sayyid of the Resistance has received his reward for enduring countless hardships in a sacred struggle,” Khamenei said.
He added that Nasrallah was known for his steadfast commitment to defending the rights of the oppressed, particularly the Palestinian people, whose homes had been destroyed and whose families had suffered unimaginable losses. His martyrdom, Khamenei noted, will not weaken the Resistance but will instead strengthen its foundation.
He emphasized that the path of Nasrallah, much like that of Sayyid Abbas Mousavi, another martyred leader of Hezbollah, will continue to inspire future generations.
Khamenei called the atrocity by the Zionist regime futile, stating that despite Nasrallah’s martyrdom, the Resistance will continue its fight with renewed vigor. “The foul-natured Zionist regime has not become victorious by carrying out this atrocity. The Sayyid of the Resistance was not just one person. He was a path and a school of thought, and his path will continue.”
In a gesture of both grief and solidarity, Ayatollah Khamenei announced five days of public mourning in Iran. He extended condolences to Nasrallah’s family, Hezbollah, Lebanon, and the entire Resistance Front, while also congratulating them for Nasrallah’s honorable martyrdom.
Khamenei concluded his message with prayers for Nasrallah and his companions, asking for God’s blessings and peace upon all righteous servants of God.
This somber event marks a significant moment in the ongoing struggle between the Resistance Front and the Zionist regime, with Nasrallah’s legacy expected to endure far beyond his life, as Khamenei assured.
