Mubende, Uganda — Police in Mubende District are investigating the murder of Nyansiyo Ignitious, also known as Muhwezi, a resident of Ngowa LC1 in Kiyuni Sub-county.

The incident occurred on the night of September 7, 2024, when Nyansiyo was allegedly stabbed to death by Mutatina Khalisiti, the husband of a woman he was reportedly having an affair with.

According to preliminary reports, Mutatina, who works as a lumberjack in Kagadi District, returned unexpectedly to his home in Ngowa LC1 at around 9:00 p.m. on the night of the incident. Upon arriving, he allegedly found Nyansiyo in bed with his wife. In a fit of rage, Mutatina reportedly stabbed Nyansiyo with a knife, killing him on the spot.

After the fatal attack, both Mutatina and his wife fled the scene.

His body has been taken to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem,” she said.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for Mutatina and his wife, urging anyone with information to contact the police at 0393241007 or report to the nearest police station. “We are doing everything possible to bring the suspect to justice,” SP Kawala added.
