1. Tomatoes. People suffering from acid reflux problems should avoid tomatoes and other acidic foods at night, as they can cause pain in the oesophagus while lying down.
2. Cheeseburgers
Cheeseburgers, a favourite snack of many, should be avoided at night. Consuming it just before bed might not be the best time to enjoy it. It contains high amounts of saturated fats that can slow digestion and disrupt sleep.
3. Chocolates
Chocolates contain caffeine that can keep you awake. Some people prefer dark chocolate because of its low sugar content, but it is also high in caffeine, making it difficult to sleep peacefully.
4. Spicy Food
You should go mild when close to bedtime as spicy foods, like sauces or hot chilli peppers, can be more acidic and cause digestive discomfort, making it difficult to sleep.
5. Pizza
Pizza made from acidic tomato sauce, refined bread, and high-fat cheese might leave your stomach rumbling when you lie down to sleep. You should opt for enjoying pizza during the day, and give it some hours to digest.
