“Congratulations to you, Chris, and the team. It’s not easy to organize an event where the President is the guest of honor. This is great—just keep working.”

Chris informed SPA Lydia Wanyoto that they had faced challenges with financing, but a few individuals and organizations had helped them push forward, with more substantial support from State House expected at the event’s climax.

Wanyoto was also informed that she is part of the finance committee that will help solicit financial assistance to ensure the event’s success. She advised the committee to write a letter to the NRM Secretariat requesting financial assistance, which she would later follow up on.

She also asked the elders to allow the youth to express themselves freely before the President. “I have been talking to my colleagues, and on the 12th, let’s give the youth total freedom to express themselves. We will support them from the background.”

“Whatever you have done is okay; even if there are mistakes, it’s fine because we also made mistakes before becoming who we are, and we are still making mistakes.”

She also pledged her full support for the event. “I want to assure you that you’re on the right track. No one should intimidate you because we are behind you.”

Buyera commended Hon. Lydia Wanyoto for her efforts in mobilizing the youth to attend the event on the 12th of September through radio and public gatherings, as well as for the financial assistance she has provided.

“We want to thank our CEC Member, Hon. Lydia Wanyoto. She has stood with us, and today we have just concluded a meeting with her regarding the preparations.”

“We want to thank her because she has always been at the forefront despite her busy schedule.”
