President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been honoured with the prestigious title of “African Revolutionary Leader of All Times” at the Pan African Pyramid (PAP) Global Awards 2024.

The award, presented at a ceremony held at Fairway Hotel in Kampala, was received on his behalf by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) in Kyambogo.

In her remarks, Namyalo lauded President Museveni’s enduring contributions to the African continent, highlighting his advocacy for free education, his firm stance against LGBTQ+ rights, and his tireless efforts to address governance issues that have led to conflicts in various African nations.

She emphasized that Museveni’s leadership has been instrumental in safeguarding African values and promoting peace and stability across the continent.

Namyalo pointed out that Uganda’s anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, signed into law by Museveni, has become a benchmark for other nations dealing with similar challenges, and she noted his critical role as a mediator in conflicts in Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“Museveni is applauded by righteous-minded world leaders for protecting African children when he stood his ground and signed the anti-LGBTQ Bill into law, criminalizing anti-humane behaviours that aim at destroying African Societies. Because of Museveni and the Parliament, Uganda is now used as a benchmark by many world countries who seek to deal with the ugly monster,” said Namyalo adding;

“Museveni’s commitment to Pan-Africanism is also reflected in his role as a mediator and peacekeeper in various regional conflicts. He has been instrumental in brokering peace agreements in countries such as Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, viewing regional stability as essential for the continent’s progress.”

The event also recognized other prominent Pan-Africanists, including HRH Ngwenyama (King) Mswati III of Eswatini and H.E. Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia of Uganda, among others.

The awards celebrated their contributions to various fields, including business, education, and environmental conservation.
