Joseph Olokojo, the former headmaster of St. Peter’s College, tragically passed away after a brutal attack by unidentified assailants in his home in Obore Village, Tororo Municipality.
The 63-year-old educator was reportedly targeted around midnight when the attackers broke into his residence.
According to initial police findings, Olokojo attempted to flee the scene but was overpowered by the assailants. They allegedly poured petrol on him and set him ablaze.
Neighbors, alerted by his cries for help, quickly responded and managed to rush him to St. Anthony Hospital in Tororo.
As his condition worsened, Olokojo was transferred to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, where doctors determined he needed more specialized care.
He was en route to Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala when he succumbed to his injuries.
Moses Mugwe, the police spokesperson for Bukedi South, confirmed that an investigation is underway.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in identifying those responsible for this heinous crime.
