The Ministry of ICT and National Guidance has expressed concern over recent malicious online media reports regarding a September 2023 request to utilize the Non-Tax Revenue (NTR) collected by one of its line agencies.

In an official statement, the Ministry clarified that the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development had approved earlier this year the use of these funds to support the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance in executing its activities.

“The claims that the Ministry was stopped from using the said resources are untrue,” the statement asserted.

The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to the principles of transparency, accountability, and efficient resource management. “We uphold these standards to ensure that all expenditures are managed prudently,” the statement emphasized.

In light of the recent unfounded allegations, the Ministry urged media stakeholders to refrain from defamatory attacks on its officials and instead promote constructive dialogue.

“We implore our media stakeholders to refrain from defamatory attacks of any form on our officials and encourage constructive dialogue,” the statement read.

The Ministry reiterated its openness to sharing information with the public and media, aligning with its commitment to open government principles.
