A horrific accident occurred at a stone quarry site in Hanga village, Labbongo sub-county, Masindi district, where a 15-year-old boy was buried alive under a large stone.

The incident took place on the morning of August 1, 2024.

The victim, identified only as Fikiri, was a resident of Nyakyanika village, also in Labbongo sub-county. According to Wilson Mugisa, a local councillor from Kihaguzi parish, the boy was sitting on a broken stone when it shifted and fell on him.

This sudden shift caused the stone to roll and ultimately crush him, leading to his immediate death.

Masindi district Police Commander Jacob Chepskor confirmed the incident.

He stated that the police have transported the body to Masindi Main Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
