At least 50,000 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrid vehicles are being recalled due to an airbag issue.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that the recall pertains to specific 2024 models of these vehicles.

The agency has identified a potential chafing issue with the main floor wiring harness, which could cause damage. This damage might lead to the airbags deploying unexpectedly or failing to deploy in the event of an accident, posing a risk of injury.

Owners of the affected vehicles will receive notifications by mail starting in September.

Additionally, Hyundai has issued a separate recall for over 12,000 Genesis Coupe vehicles. This recall addresses a problem with the ignition lock switch, which could increase the risk of a crash. The affected models for this recall are from the years 2010 to 2013.
