PICTORIAL: Kyabazinga Commends Eswatini’s King Mswati III for Promoting Cultural Tourism

The Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom William Gabula Nadiope IV has commended King Mswati III of Eswatini for his efforts in promoting cultural tourism within his Kingdom and across Africa.

This commendation was made during a dinner event held at the Mavuso Exhibition Centre in Manzini, Eswatini, to honour the sponsors of the Ingwenyama Cultural Tournament gala.

During the tournament, various soccer teams and cultural groups from different chiefdoms in Eswatini competed in different categories. The 2023/2024 tournament was won by Young Lovers FC, who received a trophy and a cash prize of 40,000 South African rand.

Upon his arrival at the centre, the Monarch was welcomed by Prince Lindanikosi Dlamini and engaged in a closed meeting with King Mswati III to discuss mutual interests between their Kingdoms and people.

They later enjoyed cultural performances and were presented with gifts of Five cows each by the main sponsor

The Kyabazinga expressed his visit to Eswatini as a means to strengthen the bonds of friendship and brotherhood among cultural leaders in Africa.

He emphasized the importance of cultural exchanges to enhance the cultural, tourism, and socio-economic aspects of both Eswatini and Busoga.

Furthermore, he conveyed greetings from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Central Government, and the people of Busoga and Uganda.

The Kyabazinga thanked King Mswati III for the invitation to the Ingwenyama Cup and Highlighted the significance of such interactions for the benefit of both Kingdoms.

He expressed his gratitude towards the Honorary Consul of Eswatini in Uganda for ensuring a safe journey for him and his delegates from Entebbe International Airport to Eswatini.

He also conveyed his appreciation to King Mswati III for his dedication to empowering the youth through various activities such as sports, particularly football, which have positively engaged the younger generation.

In conclusion, the Kyabazinga emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship between their nations to promote unity and development for their people.

King Mswati III warmly welcomed the Kyabazinga and his delegation to Eswatini, expressing his gratitude for accepting the invitation to visit.

He mentioned that the bond between their countries was initiated by Kyabazinga Nadiope, who invited him to Kyabazinga’s Royal wedding. Although he couldn’t attend in person, he sent a delegation led by his two sons, who were well received.

King Mswati III reiterated the strong brotherhood between their nations and the president of Uganda, expressing his support for enhanced cultural exchanges between their kingdoms.

Ivan Kiirya, Prince Wilson Nadiope, Andrew Kawanguzi, and the Honorary Consul of Eswatini.
