Butambala – A police constable, PC Odokonyero Richard, attached to Bulo Police Station, is in custody for alleged aggravated defilement.
The incident occurred at Bulo Trading Centre, Bulo Sub-county, Butambala District.
According to reports, Nagawa Jackline, a 24-year-old bar attendant and resident of Bulo Trading Centre, left her child in the bar while she went to the trading center.
Upon her return, she found her child missing. Given her proximity to Bulo Police Station, she quickly checked the premises and heard her daughter crying from PC Odokonyero Richard’s room.
When Nagawa entered the room, she reportedly found PC Odokonyero Richard adjusting his pants. She immediately carried her child to the police counter and reported the incident.
The case was officially registered at Bulo Police Station under SD REF 11/11/07/2024 and KBB CRB 300/2024. The victim was then referred for medical examination.
It has been revealed that PC Odokonyero Richard frequented the bar where Nagawa works, leading to a close relationship with the victim.
This relationship may have led the victim to follow the officer to his room in her mother’s absence. Witnesses indicated that the accused appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the incident.
