On Saturday, July 6, Lyantonde District Woman Member of Parliament hopeful, Ms. Najjagwe Rahmah Saad, and her husband, Mr. Buyinza Abdul-Raheem, celebrated their union in a lavish Nikkah and introduction ceremony at Kyabuuza village, Lyantonde Town Council.

The event, marked by grandeur and elegance, showcased the couple’s love and the ‘power of money,’ drawing thousands of guests to witness the joyous occasion.

The ceremony was graced by high-profile guests and dignitaries, including Senior Presidential Advisor and Political Head at the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Kyambogo, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, and the incumbent Woman MP for Lyantonde, Ms. Pauline Kemirembe.

At precisely 4 PM, a convoy of vehicles escorted Mr. Buyinza to Kyabuuza village. By 5 PM, the Nikkah (Islamic marriage ceremony) was conducted at Rahmah’s parents’ home, attended by both families and Muslim clerics marking the beginning of the Buyinzas’ union in a style that epitomized elegance and cultural tradition.

Soon after the Nikkah, the introduction ceremony (a traditional function in which the groom is officially welcomed into the bride’s home) ensued as locals witnessed a stupendous introduction like no other in the area.

Being that the couple all works under SPA Namyalo at ONC, the in-laws’ tent was filled with staff from the Kyambogo office, all clad in white tunics (Ekkanzu) and a jacket – for men, while the ladies niched it with the traditional wear of Gomesi and Mushanana.

The Bride, Ms Rahmah, now Mrs Buyinza thanked the SPA for loving her as a daughter, and generously supporting the function to its fruitfulness. Rahmah, who is eyeing the Lyantonde Woman MP seat also thanked her parents, and the ONC staff for being there for her as she etched this great milestone.
