Kagadi, Uganda – The police in Kagadi district have arrested two women on allegations of murdering a man.

The suspects, Grace Kyomuhendo and Olive Kembabazi, both residents of Rwabaranga village in Rwabaranga parish, Mpeefu sub-county, are accused of fatally beating Baker Bwambale, 25, also a resident of the same area.

The incident occurred on June 18 at a local bar in Rwabaranga trading centre, where the suspects reportedly quarrelled with Bwambale for unknown reasons.

During the altercation, they allegedly used a blunt object to beat him until he fell into a coma.

Samuel Baluku, a resident, said Bwambale was rushed to Kagadi General Hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, reported that the suspects fled the area following the incident.

However, they were apprehended on Monday and are now detained at Kagadi Central Police Station on murder charges.

Another Murder in Kagadi: Man Strangled to Death Over Land Dispute

In a separate incident, a 45-year-old man was found strangled to death in Kagadi district. The deceased, Yakobo Byeitaka, a resident of Karagi village in Kitema parish, Kyenzige sub-county, went missing on June 21 after being called by his two brothers to resolve a land conflict.

According to Rosemary Fatuma, a relative, Byeitaka did not return home, prompting suspicion among his family. They reported his disappearance to the police, who joined the search efforts.

On June 22, Byeitaka’s body was discovered in a nearby bush with bruises around his neck, indicating that he had been strangled before his body was dumped.

The police have initiated investigations into both cases, seeking to bring justice to the victims and their families.
