Big-hearted! Dr Sarah Khanakwa Organizes Free Integrated Medical Camps in Namisindwa

Namisindwa District — Dr. Sarah Khanakwa, in collaboration with several notable organizations, has organized a series of free integrated medical camps across Namisindwa District. The initiative aims to provide a variety of essential healthcare services to the community at no cost.

Dr. Sarah explained her motivation for organizing the camps, saying, “Our community faces numerous health challenges, and access to quality healthcare remains a significant barrier for many. These medical camps are designed to bring essential health services directly to the people, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to receive the care they need.”

The medical camps will offer services including eye care, general medicine, TB screening, hepatitis B vaccination, family planning, deworming, malaria screening and treatment, and sickle cell trait screening.

The schedule and venues for the medical camps are as follows:

  • Bukhaweka TC: July 8th & 9th, 2024
  • Bunambale: July 11th & 12th, 2024
  • Nabitsiki: July 14th & 15th, 2024
  • Bumbo: July 17th & 18th, 2024
  • Magale: July 19th & 20th, 2024

Dr. Sarah Khanakwa Bwayo will be hosting the events, supported by sponsorship from the KEDDI Foundation, BETBRA Namisindwa, Uganda Red Cross Society, Ministry of Health, AIDS Information Centre, and ARCH Resources.

These organizations have come together to ensure the success of the initiative, aiming to improve healthcare accessibility and overall health outcomes in the region.

Residents of Namisindwa District are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to receive comprehensive medical care and health education, contributing to the well-being of the community.

About Dr. Sarah Khanakwa Bwayo

Dr. Sarah Khanakwa Bwayo, PhD, is a development expert and resource mobilization specialist who boasts over 15 years of development work in and outside of Uganda.

Currently head of resource mobilization, for National HIV Response, Uganda AIDS Commission (Office of the President), Dr Khanakwa Sarah is leading the race for the candidates vying for the Woman MP seat for Namisindwa District, eastern Uganda.

Top of her responsibilities in the Office of the President include ensuring mobilization and tracking resources for the national HIV response, from different sources including government, private companies and external.
