Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Special Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Head of the NRM National Chairman’s Office (ONC) has dismissed allegations of soliciting money from Ugandan students in exchange for scholarships to study in Iran.

Addressing the media at ONC offices in Kyambogo on Tuesday, June 25, Namyalo refuted ongoing social media rumours suggesting she had been summoned by Kampala CPS officers over accusations of extortion and human trafficking.

Namyalo clarified the scholarship process and ONC’s relationship with the Iranian Embassy, stating that the embassy had approached the office last year to offer scholarship opportunities to Ugandan students. Ninety-three students met the criteria and travelled to Iran for their studies.

“Iran provided scholarships which were coordinated by Esther Nankinga. I explicitly told the students not to pay anyone for these scholarships. If anyone did pay, they should report to the police or demand their money back from the person they gave it to,” Namyalo asserted.

She criticized those spreading false rumours, challenging them to present evidence of their claims. “No one paid me a single coin for these scholarships. If any student claims they paid ONC or me personally, they should go to the police with proof, and I will be arrested.”

Namyalo condemned corruption and emphasized that any fraudulent activities should be attributed to individuals, not the institution. She reiterated the transparency of operations at Museveni’s Kyambogo office, aligning all actions with the President’s interests.

“This office belongs to President Museveni. Everything done here must align with his interests, not mine. I’m not poor enough to steal $100 from a student. I’m a proud farmer, and my produce provides sufficient income. Stop spreading rumours you don’t understand,” she stated. Namyalo urged the police to investigate and apprehend those responsible for any fraudulent activities.

Namyalo also warned against defaming her with baseless claims, cautioning that legal action would be taken against those who continue to tarnish her name.

Empowerment Drive in Wakiso

Namyalo, also known as Chief Muzzuku, announced an empowerment drive scheduled for this Thursday at Entebbe Muslim Grounds. She called on Museveni’s Bazzukulu to attend in large numbers to benefit from the “Musevenomics” wealth creation initiative.

With support from President Museveni and well-wishers, her office has secured empowerment tools worth millions of shillings. These will be distributed to Bazzukulu regardless of their political affiliations, including NUP, NRM, PLU, and FDC members.

“Every Ugandan is by default a Museveni Muzzukulu. We will empower everyone to lift them out of poverty, not for political reasons. The funds are from President Museveni and other generous stakeholders supporting our economic campaigns,” Namyalo explained.

The tools to be donated include fishing gear, salon equipment, welding machines, g-nut crushing machines, sewing machines, chapati-making machines, chips frying machines, and agricultural inputs. Additionally, two motorcycles were donated by businesswoman Maria Namusoke Kamoga of Honda by Markh Investments Ltd for the Wakiso empowerment drive.

In her concluding remarks, Hajjat Namyalo called for unity within the NRM party to achieve the #TovaKuMain2026 goal, ensuring President Museveni’s return to the ballot in 2026 and securing a decisive victory.
