Wakiso, Uganda – The Wakiso District Youth Leadership Fraternity (WDYLF) is set to host the highly anticipated Wakiso District Youth Investment Conference on July 26, 2024, at the District Headquarters in Wakiso.
The Standard has learnt that this landmark event aims to empower the district’s youth by equipping them with essential insights, opportunities, and resources to foster economic growth and innovation.
Brownpaul Mutesasira, the Chairperson of WDYLF, emphasized the significance of this event as a way of providing a platform for young leaders from various sectors to unite and learn from each other.
“Our mission is to nurture a generation of leaders who are politically astute, socially engaged, and economically prosperous,” he stated. “This conference is a critical step towards achieving that mission by providing a platform for young leaders from various sectors to unite and learn from each other,” Mutesasira said.

The conference will feature a lineup of esteemed speakers, including Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabanja, the Prime Minister of Uganda, will be the Guest of Honor.
Other notable figures in attendance will include Hon. Haruna Kasolo, State Minister for Microfinance; Hon. Balam Baruhagare Ateenyi, State Minister for Youth and Children’s Affairs and Vice Chairman of PLU Western Region; Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro, State Minister for Energy and Minerals; and Hon. Evelyn Anite, State Minister of Investment and Privatization.
Additionally, a team from the Uganda Investment Authority, led by Dr. Paul Kyalimpa, Deputy Director General, will be present, along with representatives from the National Planning Authority and Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).

Mutesasira says that the event promises a series of keynote speeches, interactive workshops, and networking sessions designed to provide young participants with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in today’s competitive environment.
He added that Topics will range from entrepreneurship and microfinance to investment strategies and sustainable development.
“We are thrilled to have such an array of distinguished guests and speakers who are committed to the cause of youth empowerment,” Mutesasira added. “Their insights and expertise will be invaluable to our participants.”

The WDYLF, a dynamic and youth-led group, serves as an umbrella body that unites young leaders from diverse political parties, formal and informal sectors, religious institutions, cultural institutions, and high institutions of learning. Their primary goal is to enhance socioeconomic transformation through activities that promote unity and entrepreneurship.
