Julius Malema Concedes Defeat in South Africa Elections, Issues This Statement

Firebrand South African politician and 2024 presidential candidate Julius Malema has conceded defeat in the recently concluded South African presidential election.

The tough talking politician conceded defeat on Saturday while addressing the media on the credibility of the polls.

While addressing the media, the Economic Freedom Fighters, EFF party leader said that the EFF welcomes the outcome of the 2024 presidential election and believes that the provincial results reflects the will of the people of South Africa.

“The EFF welcomes the outcome of the 2024 General Elections, and believes that to a greater extent, they represent the will of the people “. Malema said.

He, however, noted that there were discrepancies and unprofessional conducts as well as dysfunctional occurrences and capturing of inconsistent results from different parts of South Africa. He said such occurrences greatly affected the outcome of the polls.

This comes as the ruling ANC party led by incumbent President Cyril Ramaphosa continue to lead by over 40 percent. However, the ruling party lost its grip of the government and will be forced to enter into a coalition by other parties to form the new government.

Julius Malema has been known to be a pan Africanist and he has been championing for the formation of a strong African government to defeat the foreign power exploiting the African continent. He has contested for presidency severally but lost to the ANC party. 

During the 2022 general elections in Kenya, Julius Malema stirred mixed reactions from Kenyans after informing Azimio la Umoja candidate Raila Odinga to concede defeat. He said Raila Odinga should accept defeat despite losing 5 times in presidential elections.
