Lira City Town Clerk, Theophilus Tibihika, tragically lost his life in a road accident along the Lira-Apac road on Monday morning.

Tibihika was travelling in his Toyota Hilux double cabin pickup, registration number UAM 450V, when the vehicle overturned multiple times in Akalo, Kole District.

Lira City Mayor Sam Atul confirmed the news describing it as a big blow to the city and the entire Lango region.

The deceased’s body has been retrieved and conveyed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

Tibihika joined Lira City Council as the Town Clerk in June 2022 from Fort Portal City. This is the second road crash in Lango, which has claimed lives within just two days.

The first happened on Saturday night when a minibus carrying Lango Fufa drum players and fans collided with a Fuso lorry along Lira- Soroti road, killing three people including two children.
