The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) manager today paralysed business in Masaka as she visited Greater Masaka Subregion to deliver empowerment equipment tools to Bazzukulu as well as endorsing President Museveni Candidature for 2026 elections.
The event, which attracted tens of thousands of Bazzukulu took place at Kasana Playgrounds, in Nyendo, Masaka City, with local leaders and community members expressing their support and gratitude.
While delivering her speech, Hajjat Namyalo emphasized her humble origins, describing herself as a “street villager” sent by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to empower the youth.
She mentioned that President Museveni had received reports indicating that resources meant for the common man were not reaching their intended recipients, prompting him to send her to address this issue directly.
She clarified that her initiative was not about government programs and policies but a personal effort by President Museveni in his capacity as the National Chairman.
Hudu Hussein, the Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Masaka City, commended Namyalo’s resilience and thanked President Museveni for his efforts in youth empowerment.
He urged Namyalo to bring more empowerment tools to Greater Masaka to ensure broader benefits.
Hudu also advised the ghetto youth to resist being manipulated by political opportunists who incite disruptive behavior, and he warned against those who might exploit the ghetto youth for political gain.
Ssalongo Kalema Fred Pax, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (DRDC) for Bukomansimbi, not only acknowledged President Museveni’s impending return in 2026 but also announced his candidacy for the Bukoto East constituency.
The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Nyendo Mukungwe Naava Mastula praised Namyalo for her dedication and urged her to remain strong amidst the challenges that come with hard work.
At the same event, Kateregga Ali, a Masaka councillor who recently switched from the National Unity Platform (NUP) to the National Resistance Movement (NRM), expressed his gratitude towards President Museveni for his youth empowerment initiatives.
He warned the ghetto youth against being used by political figures like Bobi Wine and called on President Museveni to release all political prisoners detained during the 2021 general elections.
Former Defence Minister Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempija also spoke at the event, thanking Hajjat Namyalo for her focus on Masaka.
He urged her to continue her efforts in empowering the youth across all districts in Greater Masaka to ensure success in the upcoming 2026 elections.
In return, Namyalo called upon the people of Kalungu to vote Ssempijja back into office, stating that they were missing out on government programs because of the representatives they elected.
Namyalo explained that Greater Masaka comprises ten districts, that is Sembabule District, Kalungu District, Bukomansimbi District, Kalangala, Lwengo, Masaka, Lyantonde District, Rakai District, Kyotera District and in each district, only five groups were selected for the initial phase of empowerment.
She stated that more groups would be included at a later stage. The initiative began with Bukomansimbi district, where several groups received various empowerment tools:
In Bukomansimbi, Butenga youth Produce, AgalinAwamu, Ndaggwe youth group, Kawanda Youth Devt Group Magezi Bugagga among other received empowerment items.
In Lyandotende district, groups like the Lyantonde Youth Carpentry Group, Kiyindi Youth Group and others received empowerment items.
Other groups from different districts include.. Kiwanyi Youth group, Kalungu Washing Bay Group, Lwengo District Youtj Group, NRM Friendly Youth Group among others.
The event underscored the significant political mobilization efforts underway as the region prepares for the next electoral cycle, with local leaders rallying behind President Museveni and emphasizing the importance of youth empowerment in achieving political success.
