Eswatini Prince Delivers Special Message to President Museveni, Eyes Electric Bus Partnership

In a diplomatic exchange highlighting the strong ties between nations, Prince Lindani Nkosi of Eswatini delivered a special message from His Majesty, King Mswati III, to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda at State House-Entebbe.

Prince Nkosi attended the sideline meeting alongside Mr Quillino Bamwine, the Consular General of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Uganda, and Hon. Sarah Opendi, the chair of the recently concluded 2nd African Inter-Parliamentary Conference in Kampala on May 3, 2024.

Prince Lindani’s visit to Uganda coincided with his participation in the 2nd African Inter-Parliamentary Conference, a significant gathering aimed at fostering collaboration and dialogue among African nations.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the leaders to discuss areas of cooperation and collaboration, including trade, investment, and regional security.

Additionally, discussions were held regarding the potential collaboration between South Africa and Uganda in the production and promotion of electric buses, which are being manufactured by the government-owned Kiira Motors Corporation.

President Museveni expressed gratitude for the message from King Mswati III and reiterated Uganda’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Eswatini.

More details of the message conveyed by Prince Lindani were not disclosed publicly, but the exchange serves as a testament to the diplomatic relations between Eswatini and Uganda.

It also reflects the mutual respect and cooperation shared between the two nations on matters of common interest and regional development.

Hon. Sarah Opendi, the conference underscored the importance of Prince Lindani’s presence and the significance of King Mswati’s message to President Museveni.

“Your Excellency, among the African parliamentarians, we also have Prince Lindani with us who has a special message for you from his father, King Mswati III. He would like to give it to you in person,” she said.
