The Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) has voiced optimism regarding the impact of acknowledging top-performing industry agents on boosting insurance penetration and fostering overall sectoral growth.
At the 13th Annual UIA Insurance Agents Awards hosted on April 26 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Latimer Mukasa, Chairman of the Executive Committee at UIA, emphasized the pivotal role agents play, constituting about 50% of premiums collected in the industry and being essential for industry promotion.
Themed “Celebrating Agents as Catalysts of Change in the Industry,” this year’s awards honored numerous exceptional performers.
Winnie Nambogo from Excel Insurance secured the top accolade for Central Uganda, while Hamidu Bakaal from First Insurance claimed the leading spot in the Eastern region.
Mercy Adania, also from Excel Insurance, emerged as the top agent in Northern Uganda, with Patrick Tumwesige from the Western region completing the list of winners.
