In an unusual occurrence in Zimbabwe, a burglar who had pilfered a sofa from the Malawian individual he was employed by as a carpenter encountered the potency of juju directly.

As per accounts, after absconding with the couch, the perpetrator realized he was unable to sit down on the weighty sofa and desperately called out for assistance.

The man had intended to sell the couch for profit.

As fellow workers and the Malawian businessman arrived, the thief was trapped with the couch on his head, unable to explain his actions.

The businessman claimed that he had used juju to deter any potential thieves from attempting to steal from him.

The trapped thief was told that only the Malawian businessman’s grandmother could reverse the spell, leaving him stranded until Monday when she would be available.

The incident has caused mixed reactions on social media, with some finding it amusing while others expressing concern over using juju to deter crime.
