In Kenya, a tragic event unfolded as a young teacher tragically ended his own life following rejection from his former girlfriend.
He left behind a suicide note outlining the reason for his drastic decision, stating that he could not bear seeing his former partner fall in love with someone else.
“I have pleaded with (the ex-girlfriend) but all have fallen on deaf ears,” he regretted.
In the note, he also detailed how he would like his sendoff to be conducted, requesting to be buried on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.
He urged his relatives to check whether he had other children and suggested that if he did, they should become the beneficiaries of his estate.
He expressed regret that despite talking with 17 people about his relationship struggles, no one had given him a listening ear or offered him any helpful advice.
“Just decided to rest in peace. I have tried all means but it has been in vain,” the suicide note read in part.
In the note, he left behind his ex-girlfriend’s contact information and requested that she read his eulogy.
The incident serves as a harsh reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the severity of relationship struggles. It is important to reach out to those in need and offer a listening ear, as seeking help can often be challenging for individuals facing relationship difficulties.
The loss of this young teacher is a tragedy that could have been prevented, and we can only hope that it serves as a wakeup call for society to prioritize mental health awareness and support systems. May he rest in peace.
