Police in Kaabong District are currently searching for the armed Karamojong warriors who recently attacked Komuria West Trading Center.
Tragically, one man lost his life during the raid, which also involved the theft of money from a local bar. The authorities are actively pursuing leads to bring those responsible to justice.
It’s alleged that on 04/01/2024 at around 09:00 PM unidentified armed warriors wearing police uniforms started shooting randomly at people who were at the trading centre killing Okidi Damian on the spot and injuring two other persons.
The assailants also robbed an unspecified amount of money from a bar belonging to Abraham Longoli.
Michael Longole, the Mt. Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson confirmed the incident asserting that a team of detectives visited the scene and collected the body of the deceased was conveyed to Kaabong General Hospital for Postmortem.
Longole added that the two other persons injured had been taken to Kaabong Hospital for treatment.
He said that the Police Dog was introduced to the scene and lost track because the scene of the crime was contaminated by the first responders.
‘’Other inquiries have commenced and we request the community to remain calm to allow us to complete pending inquiries, the suspects will be arrested and taken to court,’’ Longole explained.
